Crieff’s Leafy Coos
NPL Group Community Fund Awards
Awarded in July 2013 through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund

Crieff has a rich history and cultural heritage, specifically its links to cattle-droving which dates back to the 17th Century, and its importance as a hub for whisky distilling and agriculture. The “Leafy Coos” project improves the appearance of a public greenspace whilst also raising awareness of Crieff's heritage
A family of life-sized sculptured leafy coos - a bull, cow and calf, all made from recycled steel has been installed. Their creative design represents Crieff’s past in a highly visible and engaging way that will appeal to all ages.
The Coos are permanently displayed in a prominent area of the town, only a short walk from the town centre and next to one of the main routes into Crieff. Placing them here makes them available to all - locals, walkers, cyclists and other visitors and easily accessible, regardless of physical ability.
The project was enabled through an award of £6,936 by Avondale Environmental Limited, part of the NPL Group through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.
