For 20 years, this privately owned group of companies has been carefully put together, refined to create a clear strategy and supported by a simple and repeatable business model. It has positioned itself at the vanguard of UK brownfield land acquisition and redevelopment, nurturing and protecting an enviable reputation for trust, professionalism and conscience in all our dealings. Our sites and land are acquired using our knowledge and experience of local, regional and national requirements. Our growing portfolio covers the entirety of the UK across a multitude of client sectors where a strong covenant to manage liability exits for FTSE 100 companies has and continues to provide the company with a constant stream of land opportunities.

Group Holdings

NPL Group has a diverse landbank of 55 sites in the UK and 3 sites in France with a total of 4,800 acres. Our sites are a mix of brownfields, development sites, and commercial and industrial sites spreading across the three departments: NPL Development Opportunities, NPL Energy and NPL Enviro.

    Robert McFarlane, Executive Chairman NPL Group

    NPL was formed by Robert McFarlane in 1999. Robert has a background over many years in entrepreneurial trading ventures and large successful property development projects in the UK. Robert’s entrepreneurial talent and solid risk management has enabled him to be innovative and structured in his approach. Supported by a strong management team experienced in their respective fields under one management has enabled complex projects to be delivered on time and within budget.

    John Charles Lewsley, Chief Executive Officer

    John is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years of industry experience within the real estate and the financial services sectors. John was previously Chief Financial Officer at CBRE Asset Service and Managing Director of Capita Asset Solutions. As CEO, John is responsible for directing strategy to build the value of the NPL Group.

    Arran Cameron, Development Director

    With an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Arran has over 20 years experience in the construction industry in the UK. Previously employed by Amec, Arran was responsible for Construction Management of Water, Energy and Airfield projects, many of which being classified as National Infrastructure. As Development Director Arran is directly responsible for the delivery of NPL's Energy, Minerals and Waste developments throughout the UK.

    Andrew Brown, Land and Development Manager

    Andrew is highly experienced in planning, land, and development. Having a proven track record in delivering complex housing, retail, and commercial projects. Andrew has a specialism in strategic land promotion, having previously worked for volume house builders. As Land and Development Manager, Andrew has responsibility for managing NPL’s assets to deliver optimum commercial outcomes.
